Overview
Marijuana is fully legal in Montana for adults 21+. Montana voters passed CI-118 and I-190 in November 2020, legalizing recreational cannabis with adult-use sales starting January 1, 2022. The state has one of the highest excise tax rates in the nation at 20%.
