Overview
Marijuana is fully legal in Rhode Island for adults 21+. Rhode Island became the 19th state to legalize recreational cannabis when Governor Dan McKee signed HB 7593 in May 2022, with adult-use sales beginning in December 2022. The state converted existing medical dispensaries to dual-use operations.
