Maine’s legislature passed LD1609 on March 30, barring individuals linked to federally recognized criminal organizations from holding cannabis licenses. The fix was overdue: state regulators admitted more than a year ago they were issuing licenses to suspected members of transnational criminal networks β€” and had no legal authority to stop.
